My Yellow Truck

Is there anything better than watching children play on the beach?  Or remembering when you were one? Your dad lifting you over the big waves at the very last second. The unexpected 'crunch' of a little sand in your tuna sandwich. Happy, screeching children. Seagulls wheeling and swooping, searching for food neglected.  Digging moats and trenches into the heavy, wet sand to control the uncontrollable tides.   Salt-scented air, warm sticky sand.  You emerge nearly numb from the Maine ocean to drop belly-down on your warm towel.  Hoping, as you drift to sleep, that you won't get too burned.  I'd go back there if I could.
